The Russian Hypothesis, Version 0.1

One of the goals of this website is to try to make sense of all of the news swirling around. But sometimes, it gets easy to lose the forest for the trees. When a new bombshell story drops every few hours instead of weeks, and the President of the United States is a narcissistic megalomaniac with nearly no impulse control and a twitter account, it's easy to get lose track of where we are, how we got here, and where we're going.

This article, The Russian Hypothesis, lays out, from evidence gathered from multiple sources, the details of if, when, why, and how the Trump Campaign colluded and conspired with the Russians to steal the 2016 Presidential Election.

This will be an evolving document that takes into account new information as it comes along.

Remember, if a hypothesis does not fit the evidence, one must change the hypothesis.

Hypothesis: Elements of the Russian Government, under the leadership and authorization of Vladimir Putin, worked with fringe elements of the political spectrum, to destabilize the American democratic system, to sow chaos and mistrust in the United States, in a continuing effort to further Russian influence throughout the world. A large portion of this chaos would be to delegitimize the presumptive Democratic Nominee Hilary Clinton, and if possible, install a person beholden to him as the POTUS.

To this end, Putin leveraged Donald J. Trump into running for President. Trump, who was already compromised with financial, legal, and sexual kompromat, played the part of the Useful Idiot.

After assisting Trump through the Republican Primary, the Russians assisted Trump with destabilizing the campaign of HRC on multiple fronts, in exchange for a quid pro quo of rescinding the Magnitsky Act, which enforced strict sanctions on the Russian Oligarchy.

Some of these fronts included the timed release of stolen emails through their intermediary Julian Assange and Wikileaks, the encouragement of the Bernie or Bust crowd, coordinated media campaigns with Right Wing Media channels and sites such as Breitbart, InfoWars, and Fox News, and a concentrated social media campaign meant to target likely HRC voters, as well as exploiting relationships with personnel in certain American governmental and investigative positions, such as the New York FBI Field Office.

The largest parts of the Russian operation were the infiltration of the Republican National Committee with illegal money laundered from Russia, and a concentrated effort to compromise the election itself through hacking of the voter rolls and/or the voting machines.

The money laundering was coordinated between Russians acting for and on behalf of the Russian Government, the Trump Presidential Campaign, and senior members of the Republican National Committee.

The voter hacking and social media campaigns were micro targeted using information gained from Cambridge Analytica. By being able to identify likely HRC voters, and taking advantage of voter ID laws in several "swing states", votes were effectively suppressed by modifying the voter rolls so that they did not match the ID's of the people attempting to vote.

While the best case scenario for the Russians was the election of Donald Trump, it was not expected to happen. The likely plan for the post election period was for Trump to start a fringe Right Wing Media company, in partnership with Roger Ailes and Breitbart CEO Steve Bannon. This company would continue spreading a nationalistic message, while simultaneously attacking the HRC administration.

Instead, all of the operations combined to a synergistic result of a Donald Trump victory. It has yet to be determined whether this will be a long term victory for Russia or not. The election is already being referred to in some circles as a "Political Pearl Harbor."

Like I said, this is simply a hypothesis, a road map of what happened to lead to today. This will be updated over time, with supporting documentation, explanations of events, and articles detailing specific points.

I understand this whole thing sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory. The only things missing are jet fuel, the illuminati, and time traveling 12 foot tall norsemen.

Well, we are in crazy times.

None of this is Normal.

Timing

Timing is everything.

Act too fast, and an opportunity is wasted. Act too slow, and life passes by.

If a cop pulls the trigger too fast, they're a murderer. Too slow, they're dead. Just right, they're a hero.

Timing was never more important than in the 2016 Presidential Election.

Three events of impeccable timing changed the course of history. All three events benefited Donald Trump and hurt Hilary Clinton. All three events, the DNC mail hack release, the Podesta's mail, and the Comey letter, were all executed with precision timing.

But was it accidental timing, or intentional?

Accidental timing implies that the information fell into their hands at just the right time.

Intentional timing implies that they had it ready to go, ready for release. Intention implies collusion and conspiracy.

In late June 2016, the contents of emails from the Democratic National Committee were released on Wikileaks THE DAY BEFORE THE CONVENTION STARTED. Instead of talking about the New Democratic platform, the talk was about how the establishment didn't like Bernie Sanders. This helped solidify the Bernie or Bust crowd, and took the narrative away from HRC.

An example of perfect timing.

On October 7, the White House announced that the Russians were trying to meddle in the election. This was at 3:30PM. The Washington Post released a video of Donald Trump admitting to sexually assaulting women at will. The "Grab her by the pussy" tape should have torpedoed Trump. The story broke at 4PM. At 4:30PM, Wikileaks released a couple thousand emails from HRC's campaign.

The timing was anticipated.

On October 28th, less than two weeks before the election, FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress informing them that he had to reopen the investigation into HRC and her emails as new evidence came to light. Some of her mails were discovered on Anthony Weiner's laptop. His wife at the time, Huma Abedin, was HRC's campaign chair, and was tangled up in the investigation. The mails, which were not on the laptop when it was taken into evidence earlier in the year, were "discovered" by some agents who were not involved with the case. Reportedly, those agents were feeding information to Rudy Giuliani, who hinted about a big surprise coming in the pipeline less than two weeks before this broke.

Back to the Comey letter. This letter was classified, and sent only to members of Congress. The public would never have known about this, if not for Jason Chaffetz. One of his staffers leaked the letter to the press. This forced James Comey to release an official statement regarding the HRC investigation. This may very well have cost her the election.

The timing was premeditated.

Collusion and conspiracy depend on timing just as much as secrecy. The Comey letter comes out a week earlier, there would have been enough time for either HRC to recover or for Trump to screw something up. A week later, and it doesn't make a difference.

Timing is everything.

Daily Check-In 7/24/2017

Today's check-in for Monday, July 24th, 2017.

President Trump continues to berate the Keebler Nazi, Attorney General Jeff Sessions in the press for recusing himself from investigating anything related to the campaign.

This comes on the heels of news from Friday night where it was leaked that the Intelligence Community has SIGINT (Signals Intelligence, like recordings of conversations and phone calls) of Jeff talking about campaign details with then Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak. The Rumor Mill's been saying these tapes existed for awhile, and that they may have been leaked to the press from inside the White House as an attempt to build a public case for Sessions' firing, allowing Trump an end-run attempt at firing Bobby Three Sticks, aka Special Counselor Robert Mueller III.

In Trump's tirades, he floated the possibility of replacing the Keebler Nazi with Rudy "Noun/Verb/9-11" Giuliani. This was shot down by Rudy himself in a CNN interview. Further, he went on to say Jeff Sessions did the right thing by recusing himself. Ouch. On top of that, according to the Rumor Mill, Rudy's up to his eyes in legal trouble, following the October FBI fiasco. More on that later.

Recusing is the legal term for removing yourself from the workflow due to a potential conflict of interest. It's very common in the legal world. If a lawyer worked for Lawfirm A, then left to become a judge, it would make sense, even be expected, that they shouldn't hear a case from an old client of theirs. In Jeff's case, he was a senior member of Trump's campaign team, and was placed into the spot where he was going to have to investigate himself.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson may be on the verge of quitting. Word has it he's been upset for a while, he didn't want the job in the first place, and Trump attacking the Keebler Nazi may be the straw that broke the camels back.

Jared Kushner testified before a closed session of the Senate Select Intelligence Committee. In his testimony, he identified a couple more meetings that he had with Russians that weren't previously made public. In one of those meetings, a Russian gave him a literal bag of dirt. Say what you will about them, Russian spies know how to troll.

The new White House Communications Director, Anthony Scarmucci, is warming up nicely to his new job. By that, he caused Sean Spicer to rage quit, said a few bold face lies, and then outed Trump as the source of his craziest line of the weekend "Putin said that Russians didn't hack the election cause if they did, we'd never catch them." His next appearance will be in a Used Car Sales Lot in New Jersey as he waits for Futurama royalties.

Finally, the Senate gets ready to vote on their version of the health care bill, which could take away coverage from 32 million Americans while doubling premiums for everyone. This would kill 50,000 people per year. But the Koch Brothers would get a tax write-off!

That's it for today.

Get To Know Your Government

To help explain how we ended up where we are, a lot of terminology will be used over the course of this blog, and a lot of principles and philosophical underpinnings on how and why the government functions the way it does will be used. But, since I don't know what everyone's knowledge level is at coming into this, I'm going to write a series of essays outlining how the government works, why it does what it does, and how it affects curt events.

I'm going to cover many topics from large ideas like the branches of government and separation of power down to tiny details like the Pocket Veto, and answering questions like can a President pardon themselves? (Spoiler: they can't, Nixon already asked.)

It's called "Get To Know Your Government." Any posts with the GTKYG tag will fall under this category.
