There’s an old saying. “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” This is the first bite of None of this is Normal. My attempt to explain what is going on in the world.
I started this blog as a way of trying to keep track of the weaponized craziness. We are living in the middle of history, but a lot of people either don’t know the scope of the problem, don’t understand the nuances, or write it off as just another day in Washington.
The President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, committed Treason, with a capital T, with Vladimir Putin’s regime in Russia, by conspiring to steal the election and undermine our society, all for their own benefit. Many people took part in this, both inside and outside this country. We are at war, and most people won’t know how screwed up things are for at least another year. Trump has sided with racists, fascists, and dictators, while attempting to tear down the structures that make this country the Shining City on the Hill that it is.
None of this is Normal. It’s not just a cute name I came up with. We are in some crazy times.
But why write a blog? First, I love to write. Second, I sound like a madman when I try to explain everything, and when I get nervous, I have a tendency to stutter. It’s difficult to maintain the description of an honest to goodness conspiracy theory while stumbling over my own words.
The Daily Check-Ins are my attempts at keeping up with the news. Mostly news, but some observations as well. I try to post links when I can.
