So not only did Rosenstein’s office call Mueller’s office to ask if a statement was being issued, but Trump’s team wrote a letter to Mueller raising concerns. By Friday afternoon, Mueller was facing (an undetermined amount of) pressure from the DOJ and the Trump legal team to issue a statement.
So far there’s nothing confirmed here, but it’s worth keeping an eye on.
