THE RUSSIAN INVESTIGATION
Washington (CNN)The Supreme Court will meet behind closed doors on Friday to discuss whether to add cases to the court’s docket next term, including one petition brought by a mystery company related to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
If the court denies the case, it will represent the last stop for a company that has been fighting a subpoena issued last year by a federal grand jury in Washington, DC.
For months now, the case has been one of the most closely watched and guarded secrets among Mueller’s work. The company, that calls itself a wholly owned agency of an unnamed foreign state, fought the subpoena arguing it was immune under a federal law called the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act that limits such prosecutorial action. It also said that complying with the request for documents would violate the country’s own laws.

- Walter Shaub: The fact that Jared Kushner, who couldn’t get a security clearance (or even his job) without nepotism, uses WhatsApp *clandestinely* and *illegally* to communicate with foreign officials outside official channels is another sign of his dangerous lack of fitness for public office.
This is interesting. If this sounds familiar, it is. And not just because of the cries about Hilary’s Buttery Males. And this combines sloppiness, purposely avoiding public scrutiny, and a blatant cover-up.
Several White House staffers in the Trump Administration, including Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon, used encrypted communications like WhatsApp to discuss the Mideast Marshall Plan. (I’m working on that piece of the puzzle, but it’s still just a draft.) This is important for several reasons.
First, this shows an active cover-up to keep their discussions out of official channels. If this wasn’t a big deal, why not use their official government mail? Why not use some other chat program that doesn’t use encryption? Why not just text each other? The only reason to go this far out of view to have a conversation is because they know it’s not good.
Next, this destroys any and all arguments they made for why Jared should have a security clearance. If he’s doing this, it’s because he knows what he’s doing is wrong. If that’s the case, then he can’t be trusted with secrets.
Finally, it also shows that they not as smart as they think they are. We’ve seen reports for quite a while that WhatsApp was pwned by Intel groups a long time ago. But even with that, it takes a special kind of stupid to assume that these conversations are secure.
Why? Because old people can’t tech.
Like I’ve described with emails before, messages in WhatsApp, Signal, and those other encrypted apps exist in multiple places at once. They’re on the phone, on a computer backup, on a cloud backup, in the browser cache if they use the website. They’re on backup drives and servers across the world. And this is duplicated for each and every person in the conversation. The only way that the encrypted messages stay secret is if everyone involved has it set up properly. That means no backing up to the cloud, not keeping the conversations on the phone, no screenshots or pics, no backing up locally before deleting, and other security steps. All it takes is ONE person to save these conversations to the cloud for them to lose their security.
Considering the content of the conversations, this is gonna get ugly real fucking quick.

Like has been discussed from yesterday (Daily Check-In 03/20/2019) all the way back to who the fuck knows now, we’re hearing a lot about the Mueller Report coming out ANY DAY NOW.
Don’t buy it until it’s delivered.
Don’t buy the hype or the burying. Don’t buy into the promises of indictments or people being cleared until it happens.
The minute it does come out, I’ll post it here. Until then, just sit back, relax, go to the Winchester, and just hang out until it all blows over. I have a feeling that the craziness will ramp up to 11 when it drops.

- Countercheckist: ‘EVERYONE COLLUDES!’ isn’t exactly your best strategy. It is, however, slightly less stupid than @donaldjtRUmpjr’s strategy of pointing out other people’s links to Russia. So, there’s that.
That’s it for Thursday. As far as Friday goes, don’t buy into the hype of the Mueller Report until it actually happens. Mueller’s team doesn’t leak. They don’t say shit. They’re like mimes that had their tongues cut out. All of the news we’re hearing about an imminent report comes from Team Trump. It’s coming from Trump, Giuliani, the other subjects and targets, and it’s all either deza or wild speculation.
Do I think it will be delivered soon? Maybe. Some signs point to it, but nothing concrete, and I have no insider sources. Even the Rumor Mill doesn’t know precisely. I know we talked about this a couple weeks back (Daily Check-In 03/08/2019) and last week (Daily Check-In 03/15/2019), but at this point, I’m in a holding pattern.
Since I mentioned the Middle East Marshall Plan, I think I should really put my ass in gear and get it done. More pieces of the Grand Bargain are coming into place.
